RADIO RADIO is a sixteen-part series of forty-five minute broadcasts which asks an honest question: Is there really a place on radio for experimentation? Twenty people immersed in radio, sound and performance (Prix Italia winners, Prix Futura winners, SONY winners and platinum recording artists as well as sound poets, unconventional radio producers, audio artists, critically savvy DJs and writers on the social and aesthetic margins) offer, in their own ways, answers to this question through conversation and the presentation of their work. Things called "voice bumpers" frame and counterpoint larger discussions throughout the series. Ironic versions of the music bumpers in NPR-style magazine programs, these voice bumpers combine found sound with conversation fragments from interviews with important radio critics, scholars and inventive practitioners (Allen Weiss, Kersten Glandien, Kenneth Goldsmith, Lauren Goodlad, Mark Percival, Himan Brown, Tim Crook, Matthew Finch, David Chesworth, Sonia Leber, Simon Elmes and Jo Tacchi) to create a listening experience more restless and engaging than it is wallpaper.

Radio Radio evolves out of two other recent projects: a BBC-broadcast, radio art magazine called ENGAGED, and a U.S.-based nationally-distributed literary series called LINEbreak. It combines the production style and innovative editing of ENGAGED, the in-depth interviewing and host presence of LINEbreak, and material with an international scope. The series debuted on 104.4 Resonance FM in London, England, in 2003 and will be heard on stations and networks around the world until 2005. The series was produced, researched and edited by Martin Spinelli.

Martin Spinelli is a radio producer and media critic. His literary series, radio art magazines, documentaries, features and news stories have been heard on BBC Radio Three and Four, and on public and commercial stations and networks throughout North America, Europe and Australia. Spinelli's work has garnered several grants and broadcasting awards; perhaps most notably his LINEbreak series and ENGAGED magazine are included in the permanent collections of Museum of Television & Radio (US) and in the National Sound Archive (UK). In addition, his essays on literature, art, semantics and media history have been published in The Journal of Postmodern Culture, The International Journal of Cultural Studies, Social Policy, Object and elsewhere. He is currently working on a book about radio poetry.
